ellO projects was born out of the ashes of ellO gallery&shop* in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA. Our goal is to bring innovative and uncompromising contemporary art initiatives to the seacoast area of New Hampshire and beyond, away from the conventions of any preconceived or established commercial forms of art marketed to the public. We aim to smash the conception of art being an object to consume and instead to offer a situation which rarely exists in this area where "art" can be an experience; an all-encompassing installation, a conceptual performance, a video projection or even an intangible feeling.
Even though this is not one of the main hubs for contemporary art, nor a major city area in general, we feel art initiatives CAN be undertaken in the smaller hamlets and perhaps can have a completely unique platform as the public may not expect our type of activity in the area we are in.
We are always organizing + planning with local business/organizations for temporary spaces as well as asking artists from anywhere for proposals. We are all about collaboration and bringing the public together, even for small spaces of time.

ellO projects is an artist-run organization.
The main organizer/curator is John Fanning with assistance & support from John Winters.
