"VANSION" was ellO's first project, executed in Kittery, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire on 7th August, 2009. 6 artists (Sylvea Johnson, John Fanning, Glenn DiLando, eLoSo, Sean Reardon & Josh Johnson + helpers) took over a rented moving van and turned the interior into a surrealistic living space, though in an abstract/conceptual manner. We began in the parking lot of Buoy gallery in Kittery and took a chaotic drive into downtown Portsmouth and attracted an excellent crowd including confused tourists and bar-hoppers. After about an hour we were told to ship out by the actually very agreeable Portsmouth police. In that hour though, we transformed the downtown area into a true spectacle, full of life & energy.
